[Developer Newsletter] Regarding the Update of Late September

- ■First of all,
- Greetings Pilots, I am Ota the Development Director of GBO2!
It has become late September of 2022, and the weather has turned into more comfortable…or rather, the nights are chilly.
Be sure to take good care of yourself as the season is changing.
- And speaking of fall… “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” will finally be released on 2nd of October[JST]!
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a new Gundam, and I’m too hyped!
I would like to see its world, new story lines that will come up, and new mobile suits with various designs although it’s not the Universal Century. Hope we’ll like it!!
- We are looking forward to the new Gundam, but we also have variety of updates for GBO2, including the appearance of a new MS.
Let us introduce you to some of them.
- ■New MS “Delta Kai”, will arrive soon!
- New General Unit MS from “UC-MSV”, “Gundam Delta Kai” will join the fray!
In addition to its Psycommu Weapons and variable features, it is a prototype equipped with the so called “n_i_t_r_o” (nitro) Psycommu Equipment.
- ＜Unit Details＞
- ・Origin “UC-MSV”, Sortie Limit “Ground/Space”, General Unit with “650” Cost.
- ・Prototype MS that is developed via incorporating new Psycommu and other equipments based on operational data of DELTA PLUS.
- ・Equipped with powerful armaments that are reminiscent of 4th generation MS, such as Long Mega Buster, High Mega Cannon mounted on its shield, and a Proto Fin Funnel, Psychomu Weapon that shoots beam projectiles, which lead to expect to achieve great results when used appropriately.
- ・New Psycommu Equipment “n_i_t_r_o”(Nitro) is also equipped, increasing the complex fire and Psycommu Weapon control, even now possible for ordinary pilots.
However, the use of nitro has major problems such as the fact that it encourages the pilot to become an enhanced human being, making pilots aggressive in terms of their own personality.
- ・Can be deployed both on the Ground and in Space.
- [Skill] Ability UP “n_i_t_r_o”
Maneuvering is automatically increased when the Unit HP falls below a specified value.
While the skill is activated, reloading/overheating and focus time of all Range Weapons are reduced and Psycommu equipments are enhanced.
Only at the moment during the skill activation, it nullifies reactions other than staggering due to accumulation of damage.

- ■Ground MAP “Trenches” is implemented!
- By the upcoming update New Map “Trenches” is scheduled to be added.
Set in a trench area for MSs built in the suburbs of an urban area, where players fight against each other while blocking the line of fire with trenches, buildings, and other terrain.
Let us introduce the features of the new MAP.
- ＜MAP Features ①: “Trenches” and “Surface” with different characteristics＞
- MAP is mainly divided into two layers: “trenches” where visibility & firing lines are difficult to pass through and “surface” where visibility & firing lines are easy to pass through..
“Trenches” is tangled terrain, which makes attack time-consuming, but they also provide a relatively safe approach to enemy aircraft because of the difficulty of getting through the line of fire.
The disadvantage of “Surface” is that Units are more vulnerable to fire, since the line of fire is easier to pass through.
However, “Surface” has the advantage of allowing the soldier to jump over tangled trenches, so it can be used in different ways depending on the situation.
- ↑”Trenches” where visibility & line of fire is difficult to pass through and the “Surface” where visibility & line of fire is easy to pass through. Be careful not to rush to the Surface, you meet with heavy concentrated fire.
- ↑Entire MAP. The tangled trenches prevent each other’s approach.
Since it is difficult to grasp the situation of each other’s team in the trenches, it is a good idea to get on the surface for a moment to get an idea of the enemy formation and position.
- ＜MAP Features②: Sniping points placed in key locations＞
- Collapsed buildings and high ground are placed in the center of the MAP.
A strong position with good terrain for sniping and bombardment, also possibility to target some of the trenches that has enemy Units within them.
In other words, it is easy to attract attention and receive concentrated fire, so be aware of the positions of enemy Units and escort your team mates before attacking.
- ↑Due to visibility, the high ground is also suitable for survey, such as probing the enemy team formation in the early stages of the game,
