- ■Kicking things off
-
Greetings, pilots! This is your Dev director, Ota.
It’s been about three months since the last Dev Newsletter, but I’ll continue sharing development updates and messages with you, so I hope you’ll stay tuned. -
First of all, let me once again thank you sincerely for participating in the 7th Anniversary Celebration and other events!
We were only able to reach the 7th anniversary thanks to all of you pilots who continue to play GBO2!! -
For the 7th anniversary, “Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam”, our new source title — joined the battle.
Now that GBO2 has set off into its 8th year, we will continue to add new MSs, implement new features, and carry out various updates and adjustments.
In particular, moving forward we plan not only to add MS from Universal Century (U.C.) works, but also to bring in suits from “Alternative Series” as well…
Of course, new entries from the U.C. titles will keep coming in one after another, so please look forward to it!
(As Producer Hiraishi also mentioned, the participation of Victory Gundam has been confirmed!) - Well then, without further delay, let me introduce a new MS from our latest title, “Mobile Suit Gundam Silhouette Formula: Ghost of Formula 91”.
- ■New MS “Neo Gundam”
-
From Mobile Suit Gundam Silhouette Formula 91, “Neo Gundam” is joining the battle!
This unit is a cost 750 Support type, equipped with the G-BRD, which enhances both mobility and firepower. - <Unit features>
- ・Support unit with cost of 750.
- ・This unit is a combination of the conventional Gundam-type MS with SFP (Silhouette Formula Project) technology by Anaheim Electronics.
-
・Reluctant to meet a request for smaller MS by Federation forces, Anaheim Electronics lost its leadership role in MS development following the launch of the “Formula Project” by the Strategic Naval Research Institute (SNRI).
To address its inferiority in technological advancement with SNRI, Anaheim Electronics illegally obtained classified information from SNRI’s Formula Project.
It would then launch its SFP (Silhouette Formula Project) to develop this unit—a new type of MS comparable in performance to the F91. -
・It is also equipped with a G-BRD, which combines SFS (Sub-Flight System) functionality, similar to that of the Mega Rider, with compact variable speed beam rifle (VSBR) functionality.
It possesses diverse attack methods, including beam attacks with adjustable duration and burst fire.
Additionally, pressing the touchpad button activates the skill “G-BRD H Speed Mobility Controller”.
While skill is activating and compatible weapon is selected, moving forward in High Speed Movement will increase mobility, and related weapons can be used. - ・Can be deployed both on the Ground and in Space.
- ※This video may not be representative of the actual product.
-
- <Skills>
- Skill “G-BRD H Speed Mobility Controller”
- ・Press the touch pad to temporarily activate skill.
When target weapon is selected, moving forward during High Speed Movement increases mobility,
reduces thruster consumption when starting or during High Speed Movement, and compatible weapons can be used. - This skill can be used again after some time passes.
-
-
- Skill “Prototype Neo Psycommu System”
- ・Automatically activates under a certain of HP,
- ・Boosting ATK power and mobility
- ・Damage from ranged attacks and stagger from cumulative damage are reduced
- ・When moving forward at high speed with the “G-BRD H Speed Mobility Controller” skill, reactions caused by taking ranged attacks are reduced.
- ・Nullifies all reactions except for knockback due to cumulative damage, ONLY at the point of skill activation.
-
- Sub-weapon “G-BRD [Discharge]”
- ・G-BRD for use as a sub weapon, offering long suppression, capable of piercing MS, and negating any special buffer damage reduction effects of enemy MS.
Must stop to fire, but discharge deals continuous damage while the Attack button is pressed.
If the attack is stopped or used for a certain period of time, the weapon will be overheated.
- ■New map “Colony Interior”!
-
Next, let us introduce the newly added map, “Colony Interior”.
As the name suggests, this map is designed after the inside of a space colony as seen in Gundam works.
The main battlefield centers around the rooftops and interiors of tall buildings stretching across the middle of the map, and how you seize control of these elevated positions will be the key to victory. - <MAP overview>
-
This map features rows of massive buildings with a layout characterized by sharp differences in elevation.
While the high ground offers easier movement due to having fewer obstacles, it also leaves you more exposed to enemy fire. As such, movement on the lower levels, where there is more cover, will generally be the safer option. - <MAP feature①: The central area with steep elevation differences>
-
In the center of the map stands a massive structure with part of its ceiling collapsed.
Inside this building, there is enough space to enable three-dimensional combat by making full use of the Flight System and Flap Boosters.
Furthermore, if you can successfully secure a position on top of the building, you’ll be able to take advantage of the terrain to unleash one-sided attacks from above. - <MAP feature②: Route to the bases>
-
The building in front of the base can be traversed, offering not only a direct route straight toward the enemy base but also alternate detour routes.
By using these detour routes, you can approach the enemy base without drawing the opposing team’s attention. Make use of them according to the situation. - <MAP feature③: The airspace suited for aerial combat and movement>
-
Because this map has few obstacles blocking the skies, it provides an environment well-suited for aerial battles using the Flight System and Flap Boosters.
However, if you are downed at high altitude, the long fall to the ground leaves you vulnerable to taking heavy damage, so be mindful of your altitude during aerial combat. -
That’s all for the introduction of the new map!
Be sure to give it a try after the update! - ■GBO Autumn Festival!!
-
The GBO Autumn Festival returns this year!
We’ll be holding a variety of events, including a free 10-pull Special Supply Drop every week,
a special STEP UP Supply Drop guaranteeing MS acquisition, and limited-time autumn missions where you can obtain the Armored GM (BA).
Though the lingering heat continues, we hope you’ll enjoy the long autumn nights with the GBO Autumn Festival. -
※The Autumn Festival is scheduled to begin on [PDT] 09/24/2025 22:00 / [CEST] 09/25/2025 07:00.
Please check the information to be released later for further details. - ■To wrap things up…
-
This update will be applied at [PDT] 09/24/2025 22:00 / [CEST] 09/25/2025 07:00.
Please wait just a little longer until the update. -
Now, shifting gears completely… At the GBO off event held this summer, we ran a “spot the difference” game during the event.
Some said the difficulty was on par with that of a certain family restaurant’s puzzles, but we think it turned out to be something you can casually enjoy in your spare time.
Originally, only Battle Off participants could take on the challenge, but since it would be a shame to keep it limited, we’ll be sharing a few of them here in this Dev Newsletter!
We invite all of you to give them a try as well! - (Development: Ota)
