[Developer Newsletter] Regarding the Update of April 2026

■Kicking things off…
Greetings, pilots! This is Ota, the Development Director.
It’s hard to believe that four months have already passed, and Golden Week in Japan begins tomorrow. Time really flies, doesn’t it?
With this long break coming up, I’m looking forward to diving back into GBO2 and finally finishing my Gunpla during this nice, relaxing moment.
By the way, have you already checked the announcements for the upcoming events?
Burning Gundam and Freedom Gundam—previously released early on the Steam version of GBO—are now also joining GBO2 on PS4 and PS5!
Some of this information may have already been shared yesterday, but I’d like to go over it once more here for everyone.
■New MSs “Burning Gundam” & “FREEDOM GUNDAM”
“Burning Gundam” from Mobile Fighter G Gundam and “FREEDOM GUNDAM” from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED are now joining the battlefield!
Both of them are high spec units for the protagonists in the story!
◎Burning Gundam
<Unit features>
・Raid unit with cost of 700.
・MF (Mobile Fighter) from Neo Japan who entered the 13th “Gundam Fight” tournament from the finals.
・This MF is the successor to the Shining Gundam, and also follows the design concept of changing modes in accordance with emotional ups and downs of the pilot, and changing its shape in response to the situation.
It is also capable of reproducing the “School of Master Asia” of its pilot, martial artist Domon Kasshu.
Even in its normal form, it has a performance that exceeds that of the Shining Gundam’s Super Mode, and it also has a Hyper Mode that surpasses the Super Mode.
・With its power and speed that surpass those of its predecessor, as well as the “Meikyo shisui”, a state of mind that Domon has achieved through his own growth, this machine embodies the “Jin-Ki Ittai” (unity of man and machine) which is the goal of MFs.
・Can be deployed both on the Ground and in Space.

  • Skill “Hyper Mode”
  • ・When dealing damage to enemy MS with a melee weapon, Fighting Spirit increases.
    Pressing the touch pad with Fighting Spirit maxed out activates this skill.
  • ・Fully recovering unit HP and HP for all parts (head, back, legs) once the skill activated
  • ・Increases attack power and mobility
  • ・Grant skill effect of “Flap Booster LV1”
  • ・Skill “Maneuver Armor” will be enhanced to “High-Maneuver Armor LV1”
  • ・Performance is altered for some weapons
  • Also, using sub-weapon “Burning Slash [Wave]” will NOT charge the Fighting Spirit gauge.
  • Skill “Meikyo Shisui”
  • ・After maintaining Hyper Mode for a certain amount of time, pressing the touch pad will activate the skill.
  • ・Fully recover unit HP and HP for all parts (head, back, legs) once your unit will go into Meikyo Shisui mode
  • ・Thruster consumption is reduced when starting/during High Speed Movement
  • ・Damage from ranged attacks and stagger due to cumulative damage is reduced
  • ・The skill “Immobile Fire System LV1” is provided
  • ・Skill “Flap Booster LV1” will be enhanced to LV2
  • ・Performance is altered for some weapons, Melee Resistance is partially nullified for enemy units.
◎FREEDOM GUNDAM
<Unit features>
・General unit with cost of 700.
・This flagship unit was developed by ZAFT, an armed organization of the PLANT space colonies, which became a next-generation homeland for Coordinators.
ZAFT combined its own technology with GAT-X series analysis data seized from Earth Alliance Forces to develop it.
・This unit is equipped with a Neutron Jammer Canceller, which negates the effects of the Neutron Jammer, a device that suppresses nuclear fission, thereby making it possible to install a nuclear engine.
・This unit consumes an enormous amount of power to operate, and since it produces a seemingly unlimited amount, it is also able to hold numerous high-powered weapons such as beam rifles, railguns, and plasma beam cannons.
It also became possible to use Phase Shift armor almost without limitation.
・Can be deployed both on the Ground and in Space.

  • Skill “HiMAT Mode”
  • ・Press the touch pad to activate skill.
  • ・Nullifies thruster consumption and boosts mobility
  • ・Boosts the skill effect of “Flap Booster”
  • ・Alters the performance of compatible weapons
  • Using evasion and tackle will reduce the skill duration.
    When the effect ends, the thrusters become overheated and this skill along with some weapons cannot be used for a certain period.
  • Skill “Phase Shift Armor”
  • ・When attacked by ballistic ranged weapons, damage and stagger caused by cumulative damage are reduced.

■Unit adjustment of the month
We understand most of you do care about the unit adjustment and we would like to show you some information here.
※Detailed adjustment will be released in the near future.
◎GM III Powered FA
This unit is designed to excel at mid-range fire support, making use of its high defensive performance.
The overall result except [MS Losses] shows a decline, it will be equipped with enhanced weaponry, also the skills “Bullet Feeder” and “Immobile Fire System” will be added to the MS.

◎Psycho Bawoo
This unit specializes in mid- to close-range combat, making effective use of its Psycho Plates.
As its various combat performance have been trending downward, both the unit and its weaponry will be enhanced.
In particular, since its MS loss rate is high, its durability will be significantly increased.
◎Dezpada
This unit has a slightly higher operating difficulty due to its wide array of armaments, but it is designed to achieve strong results when those are used to their fullest.
As its various combat performance have been trending downward, both the unit and its weaponry will be enhanced.
In particular, to improve its effectiveness in mid- to close-range firefights, it will be equipped with the skills “Immobile Fire System” and “Damage Control”.
■Golden Week Campaign is on the way!
Starting on [PDT] 04/29/2026 / [CEST] 04/30/2026, Golden Week Campaign will begin.
Alongside the “Powered-up Hangars Campaign” which greatly boosts Great Success rate and multiples 3x enhanced values for duplicate MS…
This year, we are also having “Leona & Tenda” as a limited-time mechanic for the Expansion Facility, the “Expansion Facility Mechanic Campaign” will be held!
The mechanic duo of “Leona & Tenda”, I’m wondering what kind of surprise they’ll bring to us…
Additionally, supply drops will be held during the event, where you can obtain mechanic tickets and modification kits.
Please take this opportunity to enhance various units.
