[Developer Newsletter] Regarding the Update of May 2025
- ■[PDT] 05/27/2025 02:00
- ■[CEST] 05/27/2025 11:00
- ■First of all,
- Greetings, pilots! Here is your Director Nakagawa speaking!
-
Golden Week has ended, and just when we thought the weather was becoming more pleasant, we’ve been hit with the changing days of unseasonable heat and cooler temperatures in Japan, making it hard for the weather to settle.
As we head into the rainy season, with the continuous rainy days expected, pilots, please take care of your health and be mindful not to catch a cold. -
Let’s get right to it, this time, we’ll be sharing the latest update information.
Some of this was already introduced in the development video letter, but we’ll go over it again as a refresher! - ■New MS “Full Armor Ground Type Zeta Gundam”
- This time, the new MS is “Full Armor Ground Type Zeta Gundam” from “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Define“.
-
In GBO2, this unit excels at close- to mid-range combat, utilizing two types of melee weapons and the skill “Bio-Sensor K Ability Boost”.
It’s also equipped with the sub-weapon “Chest I-Field Generator”, which reduces both damage taken and damage reactions when hit by beam-based attacks.
Make full use of the performance boost from skill “Bio-Sensor K Ability Boost” to launch relentless attacks! -
<Unit features>
・A heavy-armed variant of the Zeta Gundam, deployed to attack the Titan base of Kilimanjaro. -
・The Zeta Gundam was AEUG’s first variable MS, and it achieved high mobility in both its cruising form called “Wave Shooter” and its MS form.
Its armament includes a beam rifle, beam saber, and head vulcan, all of which are highly versatile.
It is also equipped with an additional missile launcher and I-field for heavy equipment designed to fight against the Psycho Gundam. -
・Although this unit cannot transform into MA form in its equipment specifications, the “Bio-Sensor K Ability Boost” skill increases its mobility and attack power, and improves its maneuverability in the air.
In addition, its sub-weapon “Chest I-Field Generator” greatly reduces damage caused by beam damage. - ・Can only be deployed on the Ground.
- ※This video may not be representative of the actual product.
-
- <Weapons&Skills introduction>
- ◎Skill “Bio-Sensor K Ability Boost”
- ・When the unit’s HP falls below 50%, the following effects automatically activate:
- ・Attack power and mobility increase.
- ・During the skill’s activation, the effects of “Power Accelerator LV2”, “Flap Booster LV1”, and “Offense System LV1” are granted.
- ・At the moment the skill activates, all reactions except for stagger caused by accumulated damage are nullified.
- ◎Sub-weapon “Chest I-Field Generator”
- ・The chest I-field is activated for a certain period of time, reducing damage from beam ranged attacks and mitigating the damage reactions due to the accumulation of received beam ranged attacks.
- However, changing to melee weapon, launching a tackle attack or getting off from the MS will cause the I-field to vanish, resulting in overheating.
- ■Monumental Unit Adjustment, again!
-
The “Monumental Adjustment” which involves adjustments to over 30 units, three times the usual amount will be implemented in this update, thanks to the positive response last time!
In addition to the usual parameter tweaks and skill additions, this time we’ll also be introducing new weapons and making shared weapons unit-specific! -
- In the recently released Dev video letter, we highlighted some of the units being adjusted, and now we’d like to introduce even more in this update.
- ●New added sub-weapon “GV Backpack Missile POD [Incendiary]” to Gelgoog Vertex
-
The new sub-weapon “GV Backpack Missile POD [Incendiary]” has been added, allowing for suppressive fire even while high-speed movement.
Additionally, “Backpack Missile POD” has been upgraded to the dedicated weapon “GV Backpack Missile POD”, which now features guided tracking toward the reticle, making it easier to disrupt enemy positioning.
Use these weapons in combination with your two melee options to deal massive damage! - ●New added sub-weapon “9-Tube Missile Pod (Transformed)” to Ga-Zowmn (Transformed)
-
The new sub-weapon “9-Tube Missile Pod (Transformed)” has been added for use in transformed mode, which fires missiles directly downward.
Unlike standard weapons that follow the reticle, these projectiles drop straight beneath the unit, making it difficult to gauge the impact point and increasing the challenge of landing hits, but allow you to strike from enemy blind spots.
While it may be tricky to use, try launching surprise attacks from above to disrupt the enemy team! - ●New sub-weapons “G Gundam B Rifle [Rapid]” and “G Gundam B Rifle [Discharge]” to Gunner Gundam
-
Since this unit has a limited number of attack options, we’ve added sub-weapons “G Gundam B Rifle [Rapid]” and “G Gundam B Rifle [Discharge]”.
Both are long-range weapons, making it easier to follow up with sniping attacks or coordinate with allies.
Master these weapons and try dealing damage from outside the enemy’s range! - ■Revisions to Existing MAPs
-
Next, we’d like to introduce updates to existing MAPs.
We’ll be showcasing “Deserted City”, “Military Port”, and “City Ruins”, MAPs that weren’t covered in the Dev video letter! - ◎Deserted City
-
- Adjustment ①: New buildings added to the central battlefield
-
The central area of Deserted City, which serves as the main battleground, was previously too open, making it difficult to approach enemy units and often causing the frontlines to stagnate.
To address this, we’re adding cover and obstacles to improve approachability and encourage more dynamic engagements. -
- Adjustment ②: Added cover around Relay Points E and F
-
These are key relay points that are often secured right at the start of battle, but due to the lack of cover, they were difficult to capture, especially in high-cost matches where the fighting is more intense.
To address this, we’ve added buildings to block enemy lines of fire.
Make use of these obstacles to break enemy sightlines as you capture the relay points and gain the advantage in combat! - ◎Relay Point E
-
- ◎Relay Point F
-
- ◎Military Port
-
- Adjustment ①: New route added for advancing toward the base
-
Previously, advancing toward the base required either a wide detour around the edge of the map to use a slope, or stopping at the ledge in front of the base to jump in, making it quite difficult to push forward.
To improve this, we’ve added a new slope at the wharf area near the base, making it easier to advance and enabling smoother assaults. -
- Adjustment ②: Water transparency adjusted for ground-level perspective
-
“Since the addition of the new slope alone would put the defending side at a disadvantage, we’ve increased the transparency of the water surface when viewed from the ground, making it easier to spot enemy units underwater.
With this adjustment, defending teams will have better visibility of enemy movements. -
-
It looks like we can see a silhouette of Acguy.
Be sure to keep a close watch underwater and stay alert for ambushes coming from the slope! - Adjustment③: Adjusted water depth
-
The main combat area of this map was located on the seafloor at a considerable depth, which sometimes made it difficult to attack enemies on the surface due to firing angle.
To address this, we’ve raised the seafloor to allow for smoother attacks on surface targets in such situations. -
- ◎City Ruins
-
- Adjustment ①: Added a new route that allows traversal through the dome
-
Due to the limited number of entry routes into the dome, battles often became stagnant.
To address this, we’ve added a new route along the outer edge of the dome that allows players to enter while avoiding enemy lines of fire.
You can also use this route to catch enemies advancing counterclockwise by surprise! - Adjustment ②: Relocated the Type 61 tank
-
During battles near Relay Points C and D, the Type 61 tanks were causing frustration by obstructing MS movement.
To improve mobility and reduce player stress, we’ve adjusted the positions of the tanks to allow for smoother navigation. - ■Last but not least,
-
What do you think of this update?
With unit adjustments and MAP reworks, you’ll notice changes across the battlefield, so be sure to jump in and experience them for yourself!
This update will be applied at [PDT] 05/28/2025 22:00 / [CEST] 05/29/2025 07:00 - As mentioned in the Dev. video letter, the P.M.U. Material Enhancement Campaign is scheduled to begin on the day of the update!
-
-
The campaign will be packed with content, including greatly increased battle rewards and limited-time missions.
Additionally, a token pack featuring the VR Operator Haman Karn will also be available for purchase, allowing you to use Haman as your operator!
Stay tuned and get excited! -
